I was cleaning up the studio and came across some old photos--this was one of them. This is Mamoru and Kinako, the bestest Akitas one could ever hope to know. Kinako is about 2 and Yam is about 1 in this photo.(we call Mamoru YamDogs sometimes--it comes from babytalking 'MyaMyoru" to "Mayam" to Yam). I love that big smile of his. Kinako blinked in this photo. I wonder if it was a harbinger of things to come(her blindness)....I miss her terribly and still have her ashes next to my bed, along with her collar. She was pure love.....I loves them both so much!!!
